Waione Woollies

Create top quality, hand crafted wool felt saddle-blankets.
Each piece of felt is handmade from the finest quality 100% pure New Zealand wool
in the same traditional way as has been done for centuries.

Custom Made

You can choose from our range of standard blankets, or if you want something special or just want to make a few changes we can custom make a blanket for you. Please email or phone Ineke on 06 3766464 to discuss your requirements.

Long Lasting

Wool Felt is actually matted wool produced by using hot water, soap and friction and is virtually indestructible, making these saddle blankets extremely hardwearing and with proper care will last for many years.

Therapeutic

Wool is well known for its therapeutic
qualities, making it the ideal material
to use between your horse and saddle.

Felt Colours

There are three beautiful natural wool felt colours to choose from: Grey, Brown and White.
We only use natural fleeces so the colours can vary and have a homespun look.
We do not dye our fleeces so have no influence over the final hue.
We think this is part of the natural beauty of wool.

Cool and Dry

Wool Felt naturally absorbs moisture without retaining it,
allowing it to drip out of the bottom of the blanket while you ride,
keeping your horse comfortable cool and dry

Competition

We also make the top quality RIDA competition saddle blanket, which has proven very popular for dressage and show-jumping, it has a pure white quilted cotton top and is lined with a pure wool fleece lining, which is made from a super-wash type wool and is totally machine washable, (washes up like new every time) and is quick drying.

Ventilation

There are air vents along the top of the blankets for ventilation, to ensure your horse's back remains cool on long rides.

Back Problems

Our blankets are often recommended
by vets and horse therapists,
for horses with back problems
